This is something that's very important to her, and it's difficult to be married to someone who doesn't share the same values. In her obviously orthodox Mormon paradigm dad's a bishop, she went to BYU and on a missionunderstand that she believes her husband must be an orthodox Mormon and get married to her in the temple.
Before I proposed, I actually broke up with my partner for a month в mostly due to family pressure. I am active in church, I take my kids regularly, and I have callings. I often feel it's harder than being a single mom because the false hope is just torture. But realistically, if she is not open minded enough to even listen to someone who has a contrasting view of the church - how will she not continually discount you and your lack of beliefs. As a physician buckling under the stress, my assigned counsellor who is also a church minister told me: So, what do I do with that. If this is someone you are to marry, then the rest will take care of itself. I'm no pushover; flexing like this just keeps our lives sane. It sounds like you dont even know this guy well enough to answer that question but I could be wrong. As a docs wife we have to deal with all sorts, and prayer has often been my lifeline.
